Men's Health
NHS health check
All men aged 40 - 74 are offered a 5 yearly health check. Please book at reception where you will be asked to complete a questionnaire regarding your health. You will then be booked in with one of our team for some checks and a blood test.
Prostate check
There is a blood test called the prostate specific antigen (PSA) which can gauge the activity and size of the prostate. However, there are some issues with the test so it is not used to screen all men from prostate cancer. We recommend those considering the test to read through the NHS guidance.
Men who have changing urinary symptoms or who notice blood in the urine should discuss this with their GP.
